Slata supermarket chain and KhlebSol grocery discounters launch project to automate store processes based on a new mobile platform

Strategic project with Symphony RetailAI to optimize processes, simplify operations and improve service levels throughout retail outlets.

DALLAS – Dec. 2, 2020 Symphony RetailAI, the leading global provider of integrated AI-enabled marketing, merchandising and supply chain solutions for FMCG retailers and manufacturers, today announced that Mayak LLC, which operates the Slata supermarket chain and KhlebSol grocery discounters in the Irkutsk region of Russia, is embarking on a transformational project to support all supply chain processes on a single platform delivered by Symphony RetailAI.

Slata, the leading retailer in the Irkutsk region of Russia, is also one of the largest retail chains in Siberia and the Far East. It has more than 80 modern supermarkets in Irkutsk, Angarsk, Shelekhov and Bratsk regions with a wide selection of high-quality food and non-food products, as well as a broad network of KhlebSol food discounters – over 310 stores offering the best prices in the Siberian Federal District.

Mayak had conducted a detailed IT solutions market review process with several of the world’s leading vendors and local solution providers to evaluate the functionality of the best solution to deliver that fastest approach to fully automate store processes. As a result of the evaluation process, Mayak chose Symphony RetailAI solutions to replace existing back-office infrastructure and deliver missing capabilities to provide the full automation of end-to-end store operations using mobile technology.

“To stay competitive today, we need the most innovative technologies and IT solutions that enable us to automate and simplify our operations. We are rapidly evolving our network’s sophistication and optimizing business processes to provide the highest standards of service for our customers and, at the same time, the utmost simplicity and convenience for our store employees. All this is impossible without today’s best industry solutions,” said Konstantin Khlebas, Head of IT, Slata Group. “To find this critical solution provider, we intensively reviewed many solutions and found Symphony RetailAI to offer trusted technologies and the retail expertise that meets our needs.”

“We are very pleased to partner with such an innovative and forward-looking company, to participate in joint business development and also implement a project that will greatly simplify and improve its day-to-day store operations. We will launch the system in less than six months to enable Mayak to realize rapid value and ROI, ”said Arnaud Gauthier, President, CCO, International, Symphony RetailAI. “Working closely with our local partner, Consulting for Retail, will ensure the rapid transformation of the back-office business and will provide Mayak significant advantages over competitors.”

An authorized local partner of Symphony RetailAI, Consulting for Retail (C4R), has deep business expertise in retail and store operations, as well as proven experience in implementing similar projects in Russia and post-Soviet territories. C4R will be leading the deployment for this project.
