PARIS, March 27, 2017 – Symphony GOLD, provider of the GOLD unified software platform for omni-channel retail, today announced that Blokker Holding B.V., the largest non-food retailer in the Netherlands, has selected its cloud-based, next generation Category Management solutions. The Symphony GOLD Assortment and Space Planning and Optimization offerings will enable Blokker to deliver store-ready, customer relevant layouts that promote high product availability.
Originally a Dutch family company, Blokker Holding B.V. has more than 10 retail formats across eight countries with approximately 2,200 stores and approximately 21,000 employees. Banners include Blokker, Xenos, Leen Bakker, Intertoys, Bart Smit Toys XL, Maxi Toys, Big Bazar, Marskramer and Cook and Co.

As a non-food retailer, Blokker is particularly interested in protecting margin and ensuring fast moving popular items are in-stock. Because they are sometimes tied to a movie release or fashion trend, many Blokker lines have a specific window of selling opportunity. GOLD’s Assortment and Space Planning solutions will ensure their popularity is effectively maximized on the shelf and with space allocation that delivers high availability and relevance to the customers that shop in each store.

“It is an honor for Symphony GOLD to be chosen by a leading European retailer such as Blokker,” said Arnaud Gauthier, VP Central and Southern Europe, Symphony GOLD. “With our leading Category Management solutions helping deliver improved store layouts and product assortments, Blokker will be well positioned to compete in the fast-moving world of trend-focused retail.”
